May 19, 2010 - Washington D.C. - National Wetland Leadership Award for Education and Outreach, presented by the Environmental Law Institute. Dan Ashe, director of the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service presents this award to Bill at a ceremony at the U.S. Capitol Building.
2012 - Milwaukee Audubon Society Special Recognition Award.
2009 - Dodge County Tourism Association Friend of Tourism Award.
2009 - Wildlife Educator of the Year Award from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
2006 - Rainforest Biodiversity Group Special Recognition Award for supporting conservation of rainforest biodiversity and the endangered great green
macaw.
2004 - Wisconsin Important Bird Areas Certificate of Appreciation for recognition of Horicon Marsh as Wisconsin's first IBA.
2004 - Wisconsin Garden Club Federation Bronze Award for developing and conducting an environmental education training course.
1999 - Wisconsin Society for Ornithology Bronze Passenger Pigeon Award for efforts in conservation and education.
1999 - Dodge County Board of Supervisors Certificate of Appreciation for serving 2 years on the Dodge County Land Use Committee to revise county-wide land use plan.
1995 - Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Endangered Resources Special Service Award for exceptional efforts in education of Wisconsin endangered species.
1994 - Ducks Unlimited Greenwing Certificate of Appreciation for devoting years of service as a youth waterfowl instructor.
1994 - John Muir Chapter of the Sierra Club Environmentalist of the Year Award.
1994 - Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Management Special Service Award for establishing and coordinating the international Lake Baikal Project in Siberia, Russia.
